Following Ukraine’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Romania became a key transit hub and host for refugees. This report analyzes localization aspects in Romania’s response efforts to the refugee crisis, highlighting the role of civil society, government coordination, and community-led initiatives in practical operational models.
The study assesses partnership models, funding considerations, and policy recommendations to enhance future localized humanitarian responses. It underscores the need for trust-based partnerships, streamlined bureaucracy, and sustainable financing to strengthen locally led refugee assisstance efforts.
